This quotation tell us that jem's breeches was sewed as if that person knew he would be coming back for it.And the point was it was sewed up not by a woman but a man, as we could tell from the quotation that it was all crooked.Though the quotation tell us that jem was scared but it also tell us that person mean no harm to him.

This quotation tell us that scout was still scared of boo radley and cannot believed that he was just behined her.However this quotation also tell us that boo radley was trying to be nice to them and he did not mean any harm to them.
